The chairman of Morgan Stanley International, Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife are among those missing after a luxury yacht sank in a storm off the coast of Croatia.

Bloomer, 61, and his wife, 58-year-old Katherine Bloomer, were on board the 85-foot yacht My Saga when it sank in the Adriatic Sea on Saturday night.

Also missing are Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo, 62, who represented Julian Assange in a long-standing extradition case.

The yacht was reportedly sailing from Croatia to Italy when it got caught in a storm.

The Croatian Coast Guard said it had rescued nine people from the water, but three others were still missing.

The search for the missing people is continuing.

Bloomer is a British businessman who has been chairman of Morgan Stanley International since 2016.

He is a former banker and investment manager.

Morvillo is a British lawyer who has been a partner at Clifford Chance since 1990.

He is a specialist in international arbitration and commercial litigation.
