Red Sox Recall Greg Weissert, Option Bailey Horn

Weissert Returns to Boston, Horn Heads to Worcester

The Boston Red Sox have recalled right-handed pitcher Greg Weissert from Triple-A Worcester.

The move comes as the Red Sox look to bolster their bullpen after a recent stretch of poor performances.

Weissert's Return

Weissert, 27, has made 12 appearances for the Red Sox this season, posting a 5.40 ERA.

He was optioned to Worcester on July 28 but has pitched well since then, allowing just one earned run in 8 1/3 innings.

Horn's Demotion

Horn, 26, has also made 12 appearances for the Red Sox this season, posting a 6.00 ERA.

He has struggled with command, walking 12 batters in 15 innings.
