Bello Reinstated, Robertson Optioned
Moves Made Ahead of Houston Series
The Boston Red Sox announced a series of roster moves today in preparation for their upcoming series against the Houston Astros. Right-handed pitcher Brayan Bello has been reinstated from the injured list, while right-hander Nick Robertson has been optioned to Triple-A Worcester.
Bello, 23, has been out since June 29 with a groin injury. He made three rehab starts in the minors and is expected to be available out of the bullpen for Boston.
Robertson, 26, has appeared in 22 games for the Red Sox this season, posting a 4.50 ERA in 24 innings. He was optioned to make room for Bello.
The Red Sox also announced that right-hander Kaleb Ort has been designated for assignment. Ort, 29, has appeared in two games for Boston this season, allowing four runs in 3 1/3 innings.
